  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink and blue food coloring gel (or desired colors)
  • Optional: Cotton candy-flavored extract, edible glitter, or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Clean the apples thoroughly and dry them. Insert wooden sticks into each apple.
  2. In a saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, water, and cream of tartar. Heat until dissolved.
  3. Increase heat to high; boil until reaching 300°F (150°C). Remove from heat, then stir in extracts.
  4. Divide the mixture into two containers; add coloring to create a marbled effect.
  5. Dip apples into the mixtures to create the swirl design; set on parchment paper.
  6. Add glitter or sprinkles while still soft. Allow to cool completely.
