  • ½ pound large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup jarred salsa
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Extra shredded cheese for garnish
  • Crushed tortilla chips for garnish
  • Sour cream for garnish
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat canola oil and brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
  3. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1–2 tablespoons in the pan. Add diced onion and minced garlic; cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and water. Simmer until liquid is mostly absorbed.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with the beef mixture, stirring in salsa and shredded cheddar until melted.
  6. Serve hot and garnish with additional cheese, crushed tortilla chips, sour cream, or chopped parsley as desired.
