Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded pepper jack cheese
- 4 ounces softened cream cheese
- 2 diced jalapeños (seeds removed)
- ½ cup diced green onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1½ – 2 cups breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the cheeses, jalapeños, and green onions until combined.
- Roll mixture into small balls (about an inch in diameter) and place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Chill the balls while preparing the dredging stations: one with flour, one with whisked egg and buttermilk, and one with seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each ball in flour, then dip in egg mixture, followed by breadcrumbs. Repeat for double coating.
