  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until fully incorporated.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until a soft, non-sticky dough forms.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Scoop the dough into 1 ½ tablespoon portions (a #40 cookie scoop is ideal).
  • Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, silicone mat, or leave ungreased. Space them evenly.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
