- 1 jalapeño pepper diced
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- ¼ small onion finely diced
- ½ lime juiced (plus more as needed)

Prepare the Avocados
Cut the avocados in half and carefully remove the pit with a knife. Scoop out the flesh with a spoon and transfer it to a medium mixing bowl.
Mash the Avocados
Mash the avocados with a fork, potato masher, or traditional molcajete until you achieve your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
Mix in Ingredients
Stir in the chopped cilantro, tomato (if using), onion, lime juice, jalapeño, and kosher salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Taste and Adjust
Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning with additional lime juice or salt, if needed.
Notes
Choosing Ripe Avocados: A ripe avocado should feel slightly soft when gently squeezed but still firm. To check, remove the small stem at the base—if the color underneath is green, it's ripe; if brown, it may be overripe.
Tomatoes Are Optional: Adding tomato is a personal preference. Leave it out for a smoother guacamole.
Salt Is Key: Season generously with salt for the best flavor. Start with the suggested amount and adjust to taste.
